Benchmarking Breakout: Reducing seclusion at Te Toka Tumai Auckland
May 5 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
Between July 2016 and June 2022, the number of tāngata whai ora secluded at Te Toka Tumai Auckland’s adult inpatient mental health services decreased by 67 percent. This focus on seclusion reduction is only one feature of a long-term commitment to the delivery of a model of care that is more person-centred.
Join Katie Ferguson (Service Clinical Director, Te Whetu Tawera) and Cullum Millar (Interim Nurse Lead and Lead Instructor SPEC for Adult Inpatient Mental Health) from Te Toka Tumai Auckland to learn what they have done and continue to do to deliver better experiences for tāngata whai ora and their whānau. Discover what data they use to inform their decision making and continuous improvement direction. Learn about tools used and the day-to-day practice and mindsets of their workforce.
All benchmarking breakouts are run in a wānanga style. They are informal spaces where our workforce can ask questions and contribute safely with their peers. Please feel free to bring questions and share challenges you may be experiencing in your service. Please note benchmarking breakouts are not recorded.
