Event Description
Te Mana Hononga: The power of connection is a framework made up of six rautaki (strategies) to support healthcare kaimahi across Aotearoa provide mana-enhancing, culturally grounded, and least restrictive support. It draws on longstanding Māori and Pasifika knowledge systems and the lived experiences of tāngata whai ora, whānau, and kaimahi. The aim is to protect dignity, uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and promote safety, wellbeing, and connection in every interaction.
Join Kerry Weir-Smith, Project Lead for least restrictive practice at Te Pou, and the KPI Programme team to unpack one rautaki: Raraunga, using data to improve equitable outcomes. We’ll explore the seclusion indicator dashboards and discuss how the six rautaki of Te Mana Hononga provide kaimahi with clear prompts, behaviours, and examples to reduce seclusion, and guide kaimahi and services to work in culturally safe, trauma-informed, and restorative ways.
